Puros Sin Compromiso
Cigars Without Compromise − This is an expression of our closely held ethos and states in just three simple words everything we wish to accomplish here at DTT. Cigars are more than just a passion for us; they are our life.
We want to create puros that pay respectful tribute to the long, vaulted history of handmade vitolas, honor the dedicated works of all the vegueros, torcedors and artists who dedicate their labors to this timeless craft. Our goal is to always offer the connoisseur an unparalleled smoking experience bar none.
Our ligador and catador de puros, Steve Saka, demands the most exact standards be honored at all times.
Sobremesa Brûlée “Blue”
The Brûlée is a variation of the core Sobremesa liga in which the Pennsylvania Seedleaf ligero has been removed, the Condega Seco has been increased and the Capa is now a top shelf grade of Ecuador Connecticut Shade. The result is a milder, even smoother adaptation of the Sobremesa blend that continues to retain its wonderfully complex flavors and aromas.

Sobremesa Brûlée
Sobremesa, meaning over the table, has no precise English translation, perhaps because there is no cultural equivalent in the US. It is an idiom used among the Latin culture to describe the leisurely time spent tableside after you have finished dining, but before you rise. It is the experience of lingering casually with family and friends in conversation, relaxing, drinking, smoking, and enjoying each others company. Sobremesa is one of lifes simplest, yet greatest pleasures.

Mi Querida
Mi Querida (pronounced “me kay-ree-dah”) literally translates as “my dearest”, however it is a rather provocative word within Nicaragua used to expressly describe your secret mistress. While this may sound like an oxymoron, it is not. It is not uncommon in the culture for a man to have a mistress that is both known by and basically approved of by his wife, whereas the “Mi Querida” is the woman who neither his wife or mistress know about or would ever approve of. Cigar wise, it represents my personal maduro desires: a robust, extremely flavorful liga comprised of rich Nicaraguan leaf hand rolled in a 100% naturally fermented, heavy Broadleaf capa. Earthy and dense with a long teasing, slightly dirty finish, Mi Querida is delightfully lush and full bodied on the palate offering an extremely satisfying experience for the most passionate of cigar smokers.
Mi Querida is handcrafted at the recently renovated NACSA cigar factory under the stewardship of their new Master Cigarmaker Raul Disla at my direction. Packaged simply in understated boxes, this brand is an expression of the greatest value possible for the hardcore cigar enthusiast. As always, the pace of its production is being dictated by the tobaccos themselves and therefore it will be limited in its availability via Select Purveyors for the foreseeable future.

Mi Querida Black
Mi Querida Black is the ultimate execution of our family of broadleaf ligas and a very personal expression of my own passion for cigars.
Over three decades ago as I began my own cigar journey, one of my first true cigar loves were the broadleaf puros crafted by Sr. Frank Llaneza (1920 – 2010) and his General Manager Sr. Estelo Padron (1927 – 2015) at their Honduran-American Tobacco, S.A. (HATSA) factory in Cofradia, Honduras. Although a tad rough and unrefined by today’s standards, their cigars were an explosion of flavor and immensely satisfying to me. This earthy, sweet and full-bodied style of cigar was intoxicating at first puff and has served as my own “North Star” for many of my own best ligas over the decades.
“Black” is the third iteration of this style of blend within our Mi Querida family of puros. It retains the soul of our two other ligas within the line, however with the addition of a very select grade of Honduran grown Habano Seed tripa incorporated into the blend. I believe this is the closest possible re-creation of that smoking experience that beguiled me in my early cigar years, yet executed without the commercial constraints of cost or the need to craft the large volume of cigars HATSA needed to produce to be viable.

Mi Querida Triqui Traca
Mi Querida Triqui Traca (pronounced me kay-ree-dah tree-kee trah-ka) is arguably our boldest cigar released to date.
Triqui Traca is local Nicaraguan slang for oversized firecrackers that are connected by fuses in a long serial string. These explosive ropes are then laid down the center of the street and sometimes stretch multiple blocks. Ignited from one end, they explode in a cascading line of powerful concussions and blinding light down the entire length of the street. Triqui Traca are often ignited on the celebration of important religious and national holidays. This cultural icon is an ideal moniker for the power and explosive nature of this cigar.
At its core, it remains our quintessential Mi Querida blend with its earthy, sweet broadleaf notes, but with the incorporation of a couple refinements. The capa has been switched from the traditional Connecticut Broadleaf Mediums to the rarer No. 1 Dark corona leaves plus a unique, high octane ligero grown in the Dominican Republic has also been introduced into the liga. The resulting cigar retains its inherent sweet loam and chocolate characteristics, yet delivers a significantly fuller bodied smoking experience.

Muestra de Saka “The Bewitched”
Muestra is the humble, common word for “sample” in Nicaragua that takes on much more important, sometimes reverential meaning when used in a handmade cigar factory. A muestra is the vision of the ligador and torcedor realized, it is the promise of a new experience and possibly the key to financial success for the fabrica. Muestras are horded and coveted by not only their makers, but by the cigar smokers who seek to catch a glimpse into the cigarmakers soul within their smoke.
Muestra de Saka is just that. A line of unique blends and vitolas made in extremely limited quantities that reflect the blending machinations of myself. They include many different expressions and are often crafted of leaf I am less familiar with or not even a particular fan of to create something of worth beyond my own previous experiences. To smoke a Muestra de Saka is to embark upon a journey with me in
which I greatly welcome your companionship.
Originally crafted as a liga to celebrate the 75th Anniversary of the Owl Shop of Worcester, this is wonderfully sophisticated liga of tobaccos from four nations: Ecuador, Mexico, Nicaragua and the USA. It was simply too exceptional a blend and a cigar to not share with all of our accounts nationwide.

Presented in an expertly crafted 6.00 x 48 parejo with a unique “volcano” spiral colita, this is a very elegant vitola. This puro’s liga was truly agonized over and took well over three years to perfect. Delectably sweet and spicy on the palate, it is a refined, yet an explosion of flavor that is sure to satisfy even the most experienced connoisseur. For those doubtful of its strength, we suggest they afford it a few retrohales along their smoking journey.

Polpetta
Polpetta is a handmade puro crafted from the chaveta cuts generated in the crafting of our top shelf Broadleaf ligas.
Traditionally a factory collects these “table trimmings” from the production of all their long- filler, handmade cigars regardless of their blend, chops all the leaf fine and then makes inexpensive short fill, sandwich cigars with a constantly varying blend, an inexpensive wrapper and little attention to detail. This is a means for the factory owner to cash recover some of their material costs.
However, the Polpetta is a non-traditional approach to this problem of waste not, want not.
We carefully save only the very best table trimmings from the making of our premium Broadleaf ligas such as Mi Querida, including the Triqui Traca and Black variations, Umbagog and Red Meat Lovers. Then we diligently sort the cuts for specific tobaccos, retain those we wish to use and then pair those with two long leaf tripas to create a consistent filler recipe. We secure the bunch with our first rate San Andreas Negro binder and wrap the cigars with the outside cuts from our best Broadleaf capa.
The Polpetta is a unique elevation of the sandwich-style cigar – one executed with only the finest ingredients and with an acute attention to detail. It burns cool, is deftly rolled, provides a proper draw and even holds an ash while also delivering a flavorful, rich and robust smoking experience.
If we didn’t disclose that these toothy, petite robustos were “cortes medianos”, the smoker would likely never know as it is a superior cigar to many long filler handmade cigars that cost considerably more.
Polpetta is perfect for the experienced cigar smoker who wants the absolute best flavor for the least cost.

Red Meat Lovers
Red Meat Lovers is a top shelf, maduro liga that was created intentionally to be smoked after enjoying a heavy meal of steak or prime rib. The blend was developed while simultaneously consuming “chuleta de dos lomos” aka an export grade of prime Porterhouse steaks in Nicaragua with a varied selection of fine post digestif whiskeys and espresso.
Originally created at the request of the Red Meat Lovers Club to smoke at their charity dinners, it became one of the most successful annual single store exclusives in the market. So it is with great pleasure that we have secured the rights to share this wonderful Connecticut Broadleaf cigar with all our Purveyors. Offered in three classic trunk-pressed formats with a spicier, stronger “beef stick” variation in a unique flat capped, closed foot Parejo vitola. The RML collection of cigars are the perfect puros to pair with hearty meals and libations, or for whenever a robust, dark maduro is desired.
A rich, meaty dark liga that is the perfect full-bodied smoking experience to compliment a heavy meal or a stout beverage.

Sin Compromiso
Sin Compromiso, without compromise, is our company mantra and the guiding ethos for everything we do here at Dunbarton Tobacco & Trust.
Creating a cigar brand to manifest this expression into a tangible reality was an incredibly challenging task as this cigar simply had to be beyond exceptional. From the cultivation of distinct and unique tobaccos to the careful working of these prized leaves to allowing only the very best torcedors to hand craft each cigar. Even the box which contains these vitolas had to be extra special − in short, this cigar is the absolute best of everything.
The result is a truly unique, complex cigar that is smooth, yet strong at the very same time. It delivers a captivating and entrancing smoke for the experienced palate with flavors that are constantly swirling and changing from puff to puff. At its core is an inherent sweetness paired with a savory spiciness, but hidden within its layers are notes of cocao, espresso, loam and even chicory root. I spent over three years of meticulously crafting and tweaking this blend and I can say without reservation it is personally my best liga ever. I have never experienced such an intriguing and satisfying smoke.
